Frontal shot placement

On an animal facing you, aim at the centre of the chest between the shoulders, just below where the neck joins the body. The target is narrow, so it is a shot for steady rests and adequate bullets.

Height matters

Too high and the bullet passes over the heart into the neck. Too low and it misses the chest between the front legs.

Dangerous game

The frontal shot is often the one you get on buffalo and lion. It is taught in the app together with caliber minimums.

Typical miss

Drifting to one side of the narrow chest and hitting only one shoulder.
